Surely you asked your self you the **** is that guy and why should I take his advices. So heres the answers.
First of all, I do not think that I'm better than any one else and that's why you'll never see tips on how you should run your game or whatever on my blog. And the only thing I'll write are things that I have to do by my self and that couldn't found on the internet.
I'm writing this blog first for myself, for having a place to write down things I have done and I know I'll want to keep a trace of. And secondly, if what I do for my games can help others, that's a good thing so why not put it out there.
So basically, I'm a RPG fan who start playing with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in the summer of my twelveth birthday, back in 1996. And in less than a year started to master games for my big gamming group.
Our group was composed of ten players totals, strangely, most of them were females. Most of the times, when we played, there was about six pepole total, and every week saw a new combinaison of people in our group. So I never really played in a long time campaing with the same character and every things, because we never had the same players as the week before and we were constatly changing the game master. But it was a fun time, playing almost every Friday and most saturdays. We even end up playing at lunch time in schools.
After three or four years of playing AD&D we started to try out other RPG, back then White Wolf was big with it's World Of Darkness and we ended up playing a lot of Vampire the Mascarade. I also tried Warhammer Fantasy, Star Wars RPG (with the d6 system), ShadowRun (second version if I remember correctly) and the like. I took me times to accept the third edition of D&D, and by the time I tried it, the 3.5 was out. After that, I countinued to look at other RPGs like Mutants And Masterminds, Deadlands, Lanfeust, Star Wars d20, Star Wars Saga Edition and probably much more that I just don't remember at all.
Then it was the DND 4th edition era where for almost 4 years I played only that, buying every new book, miniatures and paying for my D&D Insider account. As I stated in my Going Savage post I got bored of the 4th edition and start looking for good alternative. I tried True20 and loved it, but my players didn't. I looked at the Dragon Age RPG and the AGE system from Green Ronin, but since they didn't printed out book to use without Dragon Age I didn't wanted to invest time in it. And finally I felled in love with Savage Worlds and all it's possiblities.
So that's it, if your courious of who I am beside RPG stuffs, beside the fact that I'm a french canadian living near Quebec City, with a wife, three wonderfull litle girls and that I'm an analyst programmer , I don't think you'll need more of that to catch up with my posts.
